🚨 TREZOR WARNS: SOME HARDWARE WALLETS MAY HAVE BEEN TAMPERED WITH 🔐
Trezor has issued a serious security warning after a customer in Indonesia reported a suspicious modification inside a Trezor Safe 5 bought from CryptoBilis in August 2026.
The reported device reportedly had:
🔹 An extra circuit board
🔹 A cellular module
🔹 An antenna
These parts could potentially capture information shown on the wallet screen, including the recovery phrase, and send it through a mobile network.
⚠️ Important: Trezor has not yet tested the reported device in its own laboratory, so the suspected modification is not confirmed. No stolen funds related to this case have been reported to Trezor.
Who should take action?
Trezor recommends that anyone who bought a device supplied by CryptoBilis from March 2026 onward move their crypto to a new wallet with a completely new recovery phrase.
🚫 Never reuse a recovery phrase that may have been exposed.
🚫 Never share your recovery phrase with anyone claiming to be customer support.
My Take:
Crypto security is not only about online threats. The physical supply chain can also create serious risks.
Always buy hardware wallets from trusted sources and check your device carefully before using it.
Would you trust a hardware wallet bought from a third-party marketplace after this incident? 👀
