🚨 $6.36B Binance Hack: The Biggest Crypto Heist in History 🚨

On October 29, 2026, Binance suffered a massive $6.36 billion exploit across 10 blockchains, making it the largest crypto theft on record.

Here is a breakdown of exactly what happened and what it means for your funds:
🕵️ Who Did It? Blockchain intelligence firm TRM Labs has attributed the attack with high confidence to "TraderTraitor," an elite state-sponsored hacking unit from North Korea.

⚙️ How Did It Happen? The breach reportedly started with a compromised laptop belonging to a Binance DevOps engineer. This gave hackers access to Binance's hot wallet signing infrastructure. On Ethereum, they exploited a feature called EIP-7702, using pre-signed authorizations to turn a Binance hot wallet into a malicious sweeper contract that continuously siphoned incoming deposits.

❄️ The Good News: Binance moved fast. By coordinating immediately with Tether, Circle, Ripple, and Arbitrum, they successfully froze approximately $2.7 billion of the stolen funds.

💸 The Bad News: The attackers managed to escape with roughly $2.4 billion in unfreezable assets, including 420,000 $ETH and 18,270 BTC.

🛡️ Are Your Funds Safe? YES. Binance confirmed that their core matching engine was untouched and that no private keys were leaked. The exchange has pledged to cover all losses using its Secure Asset Fund for Users (SAFU) and company reserves.
