Bitcoin Is Holding Better. But Are Altcoins Being Left Behind?
Here is something crypto investors should pay attention to.
On October 29, US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded a third consecutive day of inflows. The three-day total reached approximately $423.7 million. Yet Bitcoin and major altcoins remained under pressure. <Cite refs={["turn170573search1"]} />
So why isn't the whole market rising?
Because money entering Bitcoin ETFs does not automatically flow into Ethereum, Solana, or smaller altcoins.
In fact, the latest market data showed:
- Bitcoin was more resilient than many major altcoins.
- Ethereum faced additional selling pressure.
- The Altcoin Season Index dropped from 60 to 54 out of 100.
- AI-related tokens were among the weaker performers.
What does this mean for ordinary investors?
Don't assume that a Bitcoin recovery will lift every coin.
Before buying an altcoin, check three things:
1. Is its price holding up better or worse than Bitcoin?
2. Is trading volume increasing with the price?
3. Is there a real reason for people to use or buy that project?
My market view: Until more altcoins show independent strength, I would be selective rather than buying every dip. A broad altcoin recovery needs more than Bitcoin ETF inflows.
The real opportunity may be in identifying which projects are attracting demand—not simply which coins have fallen the most.
