XRP Drops Below All Key Moving Averages, Will $1.28 Hold as Support?

XRP is facing some selling pressure. On the 4H chart, XRP/USDT is trading at $1.2905, down 2.87% on the day. Price pushed up to $1.3444 earlier in the week, failed to hold above the MA(99), and then fell sharply with a large red candle. The 24h range of $1.2867 to $1.3442 shows how quickly the market rotated from buyers to sellers.

What stands out to me is the loss of the moving averages. Price is now sitting below the MA(7) at 1.3097, the MA(25) at 1.3066 and the MA(99) at 1.3177, and the three are tightly bunched together, so that cluster around $1.31 is now a heavy resistance zone. The MA(7) has turned down and crossed under the MA(25), which suggests short-term momentum has shifted toward the sellers. The latest candle is a small green bounce, but it has not changed the structure yet.

Volume is fairly steady and unremarkable. The selloff candle came with decent activity, but the bounce is on lighter volume, so buyers have not shown real conviction. The 24h volume stands at 86.05M XRP, or about $112.82M in USDT.

The longer-term view is still weak. XRP is down 7.00% over the past 7 days, 14.69% over 30 days, and 51.72% over the past year, although the 90-day figure remains positive at 18.89%. This is a market that rewards patience over aggression.

My levels: immediate support sits near the 24h low at $1.2867, then the swing low around $1.2546. A break below that could open the door to the $1.25 area. On the upside, the first hurdle is the $1.30 to $1.31 zone, where the moving averages are clustered. A reclaim of that area, followed by a push through $1.3177, would be the first sign that buyers are regaining control.

I’m watching how price reacts around $1.287 and $1.31 before making any decisions. In a range like this, waiting for confirmation usually beats guessing the breakout.
