Bitcoin slips back below 80,000 before the big US data this afternoon

Bitcoin is near 79,787 on Thursday afternoon Pakistan time, down about 2 percent over 24 hours, after the morning recovery above 80,000 faded. Ethereum is near 2,309, Solana is near 99.73, and most large coins are in the red, so the market is leaning weak again into the data.

The backdrop is now clear. The Federal Reserve held rates at 3.75 to 4.00 percent on 28 October in a 10 to 2 vote, with two members preferring a quarter point hike, and the statement kept inflation firmly in focus. That hawkish split is part of why risk assets are struggling to hold gains.

The next trigger is close: US Q3 GDP and September PCE inflation are due at 17:30 Pakistan time today. A hot inflation print would strengthen the case for the members who wanted a hike, and that is the risk for crypto this afternoon. Until the data lands, 80,000 is resistance again, with support below near 79,500.

This is a market update, not a trade call. Size small into scheduled data, and respect your stops.
