XRP News: Garlinghouse Breaks Silence, Says Ripple Will ‘Never Give Up on XRP’

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has addressed concerns that the company is prioritizing its US dollar stablecoin, RLUSD, at XRP’s expense. Speaking during Ripple Swell week, he said Ripple will not abandon XRP or take actions it believes would harm the XRP ecosystem.

.

• XRP and RLUSD are intended to complement each other, not compete.
• Ripple remains a major XRP holder.
• The company has invested in businesses across the XRP ecosystem.
• Garlinghouse described XRP’s momentum as strong and called RLUSD one contributor to that progress.

.

Garlinghouse said roughly half of RLUSD is issued on the XRP Ledger and half on Ethereum. He added that XRPL’s share has grown faster over the past year.

RLUSD is designed to track the US dollar and provide price stability. XRP can serve a different purpose as a bridge asset between currencies. These roles can coexist: stablecoin activity may bring liquidity and transactions to a network, while XRP can support certain payment and settlement flows.

.

Garlinghouse said Ripple’s annualized product-revenue run rate was around $300 million at the end of last year and is expected to approach $900 million by the end of 2026. He pointed to growth across payments, Ripple Prime and Ripple Treasury, which now serves more than 1,000 corporate customers.

.

Ripple’s business growth does not automatically mean greater demand for XRP. Some products can operate without using the token. The important question is whether more real-world payment and settlement activity moves onto XRPL—and whether that activity actually requires XRP.

Greater RLUSD liquidity could support network activity, but XRP’s value still depends on adoption, utility, market conditions and direct demand, not company announcements alone.

Garlinghouse’s comments offer reassurance about Ripple’s stated direction. The test is sustained XRPL usage and a meaningful role for XRP in transactions.
