The best performing group of investors I know personally are not traders. They are people who started a SIP in 2016, never touched it, and do not know what a funding rate is.

Five things they do that most crypto traders do not.

They buy on a fixed day for a fixed amount. No chart, no timing, no "waiting for the dip." The dip comes to them on average.

They do not check. Once a quarter, maybe. A red month is not an event for them, it is a cheaper month.

They never use leverage. Their worst case is the market falling. A trader's worst case is the market falling 8% on the way to going up, and that is enough to lose everything on 12x.

They have a horizon measured in years. Ten year SIP returns in Indian index funds have been positive for almost every starting month, including the ones that started right before a crash. Not because of skill. Because of time.

They pay almost nothing in fees. Index fund expense ratios of 0.1% to 0.2% a year. A frequent trader can pay more than that every week.

I am not saying stop trading. I trade. I am saying the core of my crypto money runs on SIP logic: Bitcoin, monthly, automatic, boring. Trading happens around it with a separate, smaller bucket.

If you only have a trading account and no SIP anywhere, that is the gap to fix first.

Do you have a crypto SIP running, or is every buy a decision?
