BitMEX co-founder and Flop Labs CEO Arthur Hayes outlined how Flop Network could turn AI computing power into a tradable commodity. Hayes proposed calculating a spot compute price in FLOP tokens from transaction data, with a liquid spot market enabling derivatives. Flop Labs is developing a network through which AI agents can pay for computing and decentralized memory services. Hayes presented the vision two days after saying he had sold Ether, Ethena and Uniswap holdings from Maelstrom's directional trading book because of macroeconomic and geopolitical risks.
