A dangerous vulnerability has been discovered in the popular Bitcoin wallet Electrum. A server controlled by a hacker could replace the details of an unconfirmed transaction; if the user then attempted to increase the transaction fee, they could be tricked into signing a transfer of funds to the attacker.

The developers have already released a fix in version 4.8.3 and recommend that users update their software.
