Americans want financial innovation—just don't call it crypto.

A new survey from @fund_defi and @Ipsos shows 35% of people want political candidates to back next-gen financial tech, but that number drops to 13% when you mention blockchain, $BTC, or DeFi.

The disconnect is real: 74% say the financial system needs to change so people control their own money and assets. But only 9% know much about crypto, and just 5% trust decentralized platforms.

Among those willing to try DeFi, saving and sending money topped the list—not trading or speculation.

Crypto ownership ticked up 4 points, but usage stayed flat at 13% over the past year.

The industry's rebrand is underway—@a16zfrontier is the latest to drop explicit crypto branding—but trust and awareness remain the real hurdles.
