Saylor Just Stopped Buying Bitcoin — And Spent $205 Million Somewhere Else
Strategy bought and sold no Bitcoin between October 19 and 25, according to its SEC filing on October 26.
Instead, it spent $204.9 million repurchasing 2,068,459 shares of its STRC preferred stock at about $99.06 each, below the $100 stated value. The shares carry a 12% annual dividend, so retiring them could save $24.8 million a year.
Its Bitcoin stack stayed at 848,517 BTC, bought for $64.02 billion at $75,446 each. Its USD Cash fell 46% to $242.4 million, while its $4.83 billion USD Reserve was unchanged. The week before, it still bought 267 BTC for $22.1 million, while rival Strive reportedly spent $511 million on Bitcoin.
Why it matters: the loudest Bitcoin buyer on Wall Street picked balance-sheet defence over stacking for a week. The filing gives no reason, and one quiet week is not an exit.
Not financial advice, do your own research. Smart move by Saylor, or is the buying machine slowing down?
