According to CNBC, the Federal Trade Commission and 20 states filed a lawsuit Monday accusing Dollar General of charging customers more than prices shown on shelves, price tags and advertisements. The complaint alleges that thousands of stores overcharged shoppers and that the retailer received tens of thousands of complaints about prices exceeding advertised amounts. Dollar General shares fell about 4% after the lawsuit was announced. The retailer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
