Here's what happened when a wallet from 2013 finally moved 411 Bitcoin.
You know the pain of selling into a crash and then doing the math for years. Or buying back near a high because everyone else suddenly looks early.
On September 11, 2013, that address received 411 $BTC at about $131 a coin. The whole position cost roughly $54,000. Yesterday the owner moved all of it. Around $82,600 per coin, that's about $34 million, something like 630x. Nothing in the public trail says they nailed a perfect top. They just didn't sell.
The interesting part is the stretch in between. In 2014 Mt. Gox collapsed and a lot of people decided Bitcoin was finished. In 2017 $BTC hit $20,000 and plenty of holders locked it in so they could feel smart. In 2022 FTX blew up and doing nothing looked naive. In 2024 spot ETFs showed up and a new crowd arrived that never sat through any of it. Set that next to early $ETH buyers who had a similar window and sold the first time it felt existential, or next to people who rotated into $DOGE when the timeline got loud. Same decade, completely different result. The gap wasn't a secret signal. It was staying put while certainty was nowhere.
Where do you think that kind of patience actually comes from?
