⚠️ Electrum Patches a Live Wallet Attack: Update to 4.8.3

📅 Electrum 4.8.3 shipped Oct 24 with a high-severity fix. All older versions are affected

🕵️ A malicious server hides your just-sent tx and shows a fake one paying the attacker

🔤 The fake address was ground to match the last 4 characters of the real one

💸 If you then fee-bump (RBF) that fake tx, your wallet signs a real payment to the attacker

📊 Electrum says some servers are doing this in the wild; one user lost funds

🛡️ Can't update yet? Check every address and amount before you sign. Your own trusted server isn't affected

What it means for Bitcoin: no flaw in $BTC itself, but a reminder that light wallets trust their servers. BTC is flat near $80.5K.
