Stripe and Plasma are planning to expand stablecoin payments through a payment card designed to support transactions in more than 100 countries by 2027.
According to Odaily, the card is expected to support multiple currencies, including U.S. dollars, Brazilian reais, euros, Mexican pesos, Colombian pesos, and stablecoins such as $USDC and OUSD.
The service is reportedly already available in over 30 countries. Stripe’s card infrastructure was estimated to process around $1.2 billion in monthly spending as of 2026.
Plasma, a blockchain network focused on stablecoin transactions, is also working to integrate its Plasma One neobank app with Stripe’s card infrastructure.
Why it matters: If the expansion succeeds, it could make stablecoins more practical for everyday payments and strengthen their role in global digital finance.
