KITE AI: AUTONOMY NEEDS BOUNDARIES

I've been watching the shift from AI that answers questions to AI that can actually spend money and get things done. That raises a simple question: how do we give an agent freedom to act without giving it too much control?

That’s the problem @Kite AI is working on. Its Agent Passport is designed to connect agent identity, delegated permissions, and payments, allowing users to fund agents with USDC and define spending limits for supported transactions.

The idea makes sense: an agent should complete tasks independently, but only within the authority it has been given.

The real challenge is trust. Can those limits hold up across services, failed transactions, and unexpected situations? Can developers integrate the system without making the user experience complicated?

Kite’s direction is worth watching, but real confidence will come from reliable execution, clear accountability, and adoption beyond early users.

I keep coming back to this: the smarter AI becomes, the more carefully we’ll need to decide what it’s allowed to do.
