Alpenglow has finally arrived on Solana.
The new consensus layer targets finality in about 150 milliseconds, and it is built around a 20+20 security model: the network keeps its guarantees with up to 20% of stake acting maliciously and another 20% offline at the same time.
The sequel is already on the table. Quantumglow, a research proposal from Anza, adapts Alpenglow to post-quantum signatures and aims to keep that speed.
