Seeing the price tap your stop on the chart does not mean your order actually filled.
You've been there watching $BTC dump and assuming you're out, only to check later and find the position still open with even bigger losses. That mismatch is how a lot of traders get wrecked on exits they thought were locked in.
The trigger source you choose can be completely different from the chart you're staring at. After it activates the order still has to pass all the position, margin and trading-rule checks before it can even search for counterparties.
Stop-market orders raise the odds of getting filled but they eat slippage in volatile $ETH or $BNB moves. Stop-limits give you a price but frequently just sit unfilled while the market keeps going against you.
Have you ever had a stop trigger but never actually close the trade?
