The OCC finalized its GENIUS Act rulebook yesterday. From Jan 18, 2027: 1:1 reserves, 2-day redemption, $5M capital floor for dollar stablecoins.
Why it matters: $USDT + $USDC total over $254B (Cointelegraph), ~8.9% of all crypto, and every new dollar of that demand becomes demand for US Treasuries. Stablecoins are becoming dollar infrastructure.
⚠️ But a rulebook alone does not guarantee American dominance. The yield fight is unresolved, AML rules come later, applications are not open yet. Watch who applies first, and what Tether does.
