$BTC Bitcoin jumps, the charts turn green, and suddenly everyone on your feed seems convinced the next big rally has started.
We’ve all seen how that goes.
For American traders, things can get especially messy when inflation reports, Federal Reserve announcements, or employment numbers hit the market. Prices can move sharply within minutes, and by the time you decide to enter, the easy part of the trade might already be over.
That’s why I pay attention to what happens after the initial jump.
Does Bitcoin hold its breakout level? Are buyers still showing up once the excitement settles? Or does the price slip straight back into its previous range?
Those details tell me more than an aggressive price prediction.
I also think traders underestimate how much position size matters. Getting the direction right won’t help much if one badly managed trade wipes out several good ones.
Sometimes I watch a move happen without taking a position. It can be frustrating, especially when the price keeps climbing. But chasing every green candle hasn’t made anyone immune to losses.
Crypto markets run around the clock. That doesn’t mean we need to trade around the clock.
I’d rather miss an opportunity than enter a position I can’t explain.
What’s your biggest challenge right now: waiting for a good entry or knowing when to take profits?
