On my live chart right now, at about 6:19 PM PKT, $SOL is at $107.52, up 3.03% in 24 hours, with a high of $108.25 and a low of $103.89.
What changed, in simple words?
Alpenglow replaces the old TowerBFT voting system with a new one called Votor. It cuts the time for a transaction to become final from about 12.8 seconds to about 150 milliseconds — about 85 times faster. Validator votes now move off-chain, and apps and wallets do not need to change anything.
