🔥 Solana is about to cut finality from 12.8 seconds to 150 milliseconds, while $BTC blocks still take about 10 minutes. Can $SOL pull it off live ? Alpenglow, Solana’s largest consensus upgrade, is scheduled to switch on later today. It swaps TowerBFT for a new voting system, Votor, where validators exchange votes directly. A block can finalize in one round at 80% of stake, or in two rounds at 60%. The risk is readiness. A snapshot taken Oct 20 flagged 151 validators holding 20.3% of stake as unprepared, down from about 45% a day earlier. The handover needs 82% of stake to sign off, and user transactions will briefly pause in blocks. Bithumb is also halting deposits and withdrawals for 48 Solana assets during the switch. Even the Solana Foundation calls 150 ms “an expectation, not a constant,” and it hasn’t been measured on mainnet yet. Solana ETFs have also seen outflows every session since Oct 5. My read; Success will look boring, with no downtime. Anything else would hit sentiment fast. #Altcoin Season# #BTC Price Analysis# #Macro Insights#
