An institutional entity is suspected to have lost ~$2.84M to the DPRK-linked group SquidSquad on October 8, 2026 on BSC. On October 20, the attacker deposited 1111.2 $ETH into Tornado Cash and withdrew the funds across three addresses.
From there, all funds were bridged from $ETH to Tron via USDT0 and consolidated into two addresses with exposure to previously attributed DPRK addresses. Within minutes, the assets were moved through intermediary addresses to Chinese over-the-counter desks, likely to evade a potential Tether freeze.
