📰 $SOL | Alpenglow goes live: biggest Solana overhaul since 2020 — upgrade or risk?
Solana's Alpenglow upgrade, described by CoinDesk as the network's biggest overhaul since 2020, is set to go live on Wednesday. Supporters can frame it as a major structural change to the network; skeptics can point out that the largest overhauls carry the most operational uncertainty. The report does not detail the specific technical changes or their outcomes, so the debate rests on how much weight to give a headline upgrade versus its unproven track record.
Why it matters: Alpenglow is being billed as Solana's most significant network change in years, making its rollout a test of how major upgrades are judged before results are known.
💬 Should a network's biggest upgrade in years be judged on its design or on how it performs after launch?
