Google is updating its financial services and products policy, setting licensing requirements for certain ads targeting the United Arab Emirates starting October 21. According to Foresight News, advertisers promoting crypto trading platforms, crypto wallets, contracts for difference and foreign exchange services in the UAE must hold a license from the CMA, DFSA, FSRA or VARA, obtain Google certification and comply with other local laws. Ads promoting crypto exchanges and wallets as complex speculative financial products must be licensed by the CMA, DFSA or FSRA. The policy applies to all relevant advertising accounts globally; Google will issue a warning before suspending accounts for violations, with suspension possible at least seven days later.
