The biggest bank in America just picked Ethereum for its dollar settlement.
JPMorgan is bringing JPM Coin — its tokenized dollar deposits for institutional clients — to public Ethereum, per a report this morning. Kinexys Labs chief Emma Landriault said the bank chose Ethereum for its liquidity and because institutional clients already use it. It expands the token beyond Base, and no launch date was given.
Context: JPM Coin isn't a retail stablecoin. It's a claim on actual deposits at the bank, moved between corporate treasuries. Until now it's lived on the bank's own rails — the Kinexys network already clears more than $7 billion a day. On Ethereum, those same dollars can plug into tokenized treasuries and funds already settling there, some $50 billion of assets per DeFiLlama.
