🚨 Bitcoin Holds Above $82,000 While US Stocks Fall Hard!
Good morning everyone, here is today's simple $BTC update.
What happened today?
Bitcoin stayed strong above $82,000 this morning. At 8:00 AM PKT today (3:00 AM UTC, Oct 19), CoinGecko data showed Bitcoin at $82,555.97, up 0.9% in 24 hours, and the total crypto market at $2.82 trillion with $58.7 billion traded in 24 hours. On my live chart right now, Bitcoin is at $82,622.01, up 1.07% in 24 hours, with a 24h high of $82,882 and a low of $80,684.36.
Why is this big news?
US stocks fell hard, but Bitcoin did not. The Nasdaq fell 2.14% and the S&P 500 fell 1.09%, and the VIX fear index jumped 21.5% to 19.99. Normally Bitcoin falls with stocks, so holding above $82,000 shows real strength today. $ETH was weaker at $2,423.07, up only 0.4% today and down 5.22% this week, while Bitcoin is down only about 2% this week.
What are traders watching?
The $80,000 level is now the important support. Market mood is also improving a little — the Fear and Greed Index rose 6 points to 59 today. But big investors are still careful, and traders are now waiting for the US Fed meeting on Oct 27-28 for the next big move.
What does this mean in simple words?
Bitcoin is showing strength when stocks are weak, and money is staying in Bitcoin instead of smaller coins. That is why Bitcoin dominance is still high at 58.6%. Please do not chase the price — watch if Bitcoin can stay above $80,000 and break above $82,882.
