France's National Assembly passed an amendment proposing a 31.4% flat tax on gains from converting crypto assets into e-money tokens under MiCA. The proposed measure would apply from January 1, 2027, and trigger tax liability even without conversion into euros. The measure covers stablecoins such as USDC and EURC, while Chainalysis analysis shows that USDT is not covered. The amendment still requires subsequent budget votes and Senate review and has not become law.
