LayerZero Labs has released research on Aerie, a post-quantum signature aggregation system capable of aggregating 32,768 Falcon-512 signatures in 0.65 seconds. Aerie's introduction reports this performance on a MacBook Pro with an Apple M4 Max chip, using 16 CPU cores without GPU acceleration. LayerZero said Aerie improves proof generation speed, verification speed and proof size compared with Orthus. The research aims to enable low-latency, post-quantum secure blockchain consensus without specialized hardware.
