Most crypto traders obsess over entry price. Fewer obsess over position sizing — yet it is the single variable that determines whether a bad trade is a learning moment or an account-ending event.

Here is the uncomfortable truth: your edge means nothing if your bet sizing destroys you before that edge has time to play out.

A practical framework worth internalizing:

🔹 Risk no more than 1-2% of total portfolio per trade. Not 10%, not "just this once" 15%. One bad day with oversized positions can erase weeks of disciplined gains.

🔹 Correlation matters. Holding $BTC, $ETH, and $SOL simultaneously is not diversification — it is three expressions of the same macro bet. Real risk management means sizing with correlation in mind.

🔹 Volatility-adjusted sizing. A position in $SOL warrants a different size than the same dollar amount in $BTC . Higher beta assets demand smaller absolute allocations to carry equivalent risk.

🔹 The asymmetry rule: preserve capital in uncertainty, deploy size in conviction. Most traders do the opposite — averaging down into doubt, trimming into clarity.

Markets will give you another opportunity. A blown account will not give you another chance to take it.

Survival is the prerequisite to everything else in this market.
