$BTC fell below 80K on the biggest US PPI jump since 2022, then reclaimed 82K in about an hour.
• PPI (19:30 ICT Oct 15): +1.3% MoM, 6.3% YoY, the largest monthly rise since March 2022.
• BTC ~80,550 at 20:00 ICT → low 79,800 at ~20:55 → above 82,000 by 22:00. Spot volume 24h ~1.83B USD (~1.4x 30-day avg); perp ~17.5B USD (~9.5x spot).
• Binance futures OI ~99.0K → ~93.2K BTC (19:00 → 22:00 ICT), now ~94.4K. Long-account share 64% → 60% (after CPI it had climbed 57% → 64%); top traders by position 59% → 56% long. Funding ~0.005%/8h.
My read: I see this rebound built on positions closing rather than new longs, and with more accounts now leaning short, to me 79,800 and 82,600 are the two levels that matter.
