A crypto scam can lead to another kind of loss. 🔐
According to a report by Odaily, more than 60 BTC, reportedly worth around $4.8 million, was stolen from three addresses associated with Ledger hardware wallets.
The case has an unusual detail: the funds were allegedly linked to a task scam involving fake product sales and reviews.
In this type of scam, participants may be shown a negative balance and told to deposit their own money to unlock their supposed earnings.
There are three important lessons to remember:
• Never pay money to unlock promised wages.
• Avoid tasks that require fake reviews or misleading sales.
• Verify transactions and wallet activity independently.
A hardware wallet can help protect your private keys, but it cannot prevent every type of scam or theft.
