🇹🇭 **Thailand Opens the Door to BTC & ETH ETFs!** 📈
This is a big step for crypto adoption in Thailand.
Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued new rules allowing locally established crypto ETFs to operate under a regulated framework, starting **October 16, 2026**.
**What you need to know:**
🔹 **BTC & ETH first:** Bitcoin and Ethereum are the only initial crypto assets approved under the framework.
🔹 **Stock market access:** The ETFs will be listed and traded on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET).
🔹 **Investor protection:** Funds must use SEC-approved digital asset custodians, along with risk disclosures for investors.
🔹 **80% rule:** Each fund must maintain, on average over an accounting year, at least 80% of its net asset value (NAV) in a single crypto asset.
🌍 **Why does this matter?**
This gives investors another legal route to gain exposure to crypto through the regular stock market.
But remember: an ETF does not remove crypto's price swings. Bitcoin and Ethereum prices can still rise or fall sharply.
⚠️ The rules take effect on October 16. This does not mean every ETF is already trading today.
💬 **Your take?**
Do you think regulated crypto ETFs will bring more traditional investors into Bitcoin and Ethereum?
Why or why not? Let's discuss below. 👇
