I used to treat every gold session like a prediction contest: where does price go next? Lately a cleaner frame stuck—trading is mostly bandwidth allocation. Most of my attention should go to naming the current state first: strong trend, channel, or range. The same pullback-to-edge H2/L2 setup pays very differently depending on which one I'm actually in.
If I can't classify the state cleanly, empty hands is the trade. Climax days and mid-range noise don't need a clever entry; they need me to save risk units for when the chart is speaking.
