🚨 #CPIWatch | Will Inflation Push Oil and Treasury Yields Higher?

One thing I'm watching closely is whether rising energy costs are starting to change the inflation outlook again.

Oil prices react quickly to geopolitical tensions. But the more interesting question is whether those higher costs will eventually show up in consumer prices.

Here's how I'm approaching September CPI:

🛢️ Hotter-than-expected CPI: Higher inflation could reduce expectations for Fed rate cuts, putting upward pressure on Treasury yields.

📉 Softer CPI: Cooling inflation could support Treasury prices and ease pressure on yields.

⚠️ Oil remains the wildcard: Supply disruptions could keep energy prices elevated even if broader inflation begins cooling.

I'm watching BZUSDT for oil exposure and TBT and TMF for different Treasury-market scenarios. TBT generally benefits from falling long-duration Treasury bond prices, while TMF is positioned for rising long-duration Treasury bond prices. Both involve leveraged exposure and significant risk.

My strategy: Wait for the CPI reaction, watch bond yields and price confirmation, and avoid chasing the first volatile move.

The biggest opportunity may not be predicting the CPI number. It may be understanding how markets react when the number arrives.

💬 What do you expect: hotter inflation, higher oil prices, or a Treasury rebound?
