Solana is still the king of the ecosystem: much deeper liquidity, more developers, more real users, several times higher TVL, and a stronger institutional presence. It has spent years under real load and has survived technical problems. It is the “safer” choice between the two for the majority of investors and applications.
Sui has real technological advantages (the object model, Move which is safer for assets, extremely fast finality for simple transfers). It is newer and smaller, so it has higher growth potential if it gets strong adoption (especially in gaming and consumer applications). But it suffers from token unlocks and from the fact that it has not yet reached Solana’s scale in real usage.
Summary of my opinion:
Solana is currently stronger and more mature. Sui is an interesting “challenger” with elegant technology, but it still needs to prove sustained adoption to catch up to Solana. Many people hold both: Solana as the core position, Sui as a more aggressive bet with higher risk/reward.
