Shibarium transactions rebounded above 1,000 but remain below monthly averages.
The 151% jump followed an unusually weak day, not sustained growth.
Network utilization remains extremely low, with most blocks carrying no transactions.
Shibarium recently grabbed attention after daily transactions jumped above 2,400. Some traders viewed that move as a sign of renewed network activity. Headlines quickly highlighted a 151% increase in transactions from the previous day. A closer look, however, paints a more balanced picture. While usage has recovered from recent lows, current activity remains well below earlier peaks and still trails the network's monthly average.

The recent surge came after Shibarium processed 2,438 transactions on October 9. That represented a sharp increase from 970 transactions recorded one day earlier. On the surface, a 151% jump appears impressive. Yet context matters when evaluating network growth. Transaction data from the past week shows significant volatility. Shibarium processed 5,711 transactions on October 6. Activity then fell to 1,323 on October 7 and 970 on October 8.
The network later rebounded to 2,438 before dropping again to 1,142 on October 10. Those numbers suggest a temporary bounce rather than a sustained trend. Compared with the October 6 peak, the latest reading remains around 80% lower. Activity has clearly improved from recent lows, but demand still fluctuates sharply from day to day. The broader monthly picture also remains mixed. During the last 31 days, Shibarium processed nearly 59,800 transactions.
That works out to an average of 1,928 daily transactions. The latest figure of 1,142 sits roughly 41% below that average. Many investors focus on percentage changes without considering starting points. A large gain can appear more meaningful when measured from an unusually weak day. In this case, the recovery followed one of the lowest transaction counts recorded during the month.
Low Network Utilization Highlights Ongoing Challenges
Transaction totals only tell part of the story. Network utilization often provides a clearer view of actual demand. Current utilization stands near 0.027%, according to data from Shibariumscan. That figure highlights how much available capacity remains unused. Shibarium creates a new block about every five seconds. This pace generates more than 17,000 blocks per day. With 1,142 daily transactions, only about one out of every 15 blocks contains a transaction. The remaining blocks stay empty.
Even at the monthly average, only about one out of every nine blocks carries activity. Empty blocks do not indicate a technical issue. The network continues producing blocks regardless of demand. However, low utilization shows that user activity remains relatively limited. Shibarium has certainly moved back above four-digit daily transactions. That development offers a positive sign after recent weakness. Still, current data suggests cautious optimism rather than a major turnaround. Investors may want to watch for several weeks of consistent growth before calling the latest rebound a lasting recovery.
