$BTC Pricing a Calm CPI; So Why Are Traders Buying Protection ? Volatility is cooling, but the options market is quietly leaning defensive. Bitcoin options are sending mixed signals ahead of Wednesday’s CPI report. Seven-day implied volatility has slipped to around 32%, down from 34.5% a week ago. Yet Friday’s Deribit expiry holds 9,128 BTC in puts versus 6,373 BTC in calls, with roughly $451 million concentrated at $76K–$80K. That’s worth watching with $BTC trading near $82K. There’s another pressure point: U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs lost $681 million last week, their biggest weekly outflow since June. Headline inflation is expected to rise 0.6% month-on-month, largely because of energy, while core CPI is forecast at 0.2%. The real risk may be a hotter core reading that forces markets to rethink rate expectations. Puts don’t automatically mean traders expect a crash. Sometimes they’re simply buying insurance while it’s relatively cheap. Still, the setup is hard to ignore: calm on the surface, caution underneath. Will CPI prove these hedges unnecessary; or show why traders wanted them? #BTC Price Analysis# #Altcoin Season# #Macro Insights#
