Reporting a JustLend supply position does not have to begin with an estimate of how much interest has accumulated off-chain. The exchange rate recorded by the market reflects accrued interest, allowing the underlying claim to be calculated from the position’s balance and the applicable exchange rate.
That distinction is important for accounting and auditing. Instead of relying entirely on a separate rewards tracker to estimate the interest component, a reviewer can inspect the relevant on-chain values and reproduce the calculation.
The process becomes easier to explain: identify the position, read the applicable exchange rate, determine the balance, and apply the protocol’s conversion rules. The result provides a traceable basis for reporting the underlying claim.
This does not eliminate every accounting consideration. Token decimals, rounding, exchange-rate conventions, and the exact position representation still matter. Nor does a calculated claim guarantee that the full amount can be redeemed immediately, because available liquidity and other protocol conditions can affect withdrawal execution.
But the core advantage remains: accrued value can be grounded in observable contract state rather than an unexplained external estimate.
When the numbers can be independently reproduced, reporting becomes easier to review and discrepancies become easier to investigate.
On-chain accrual makes the interest component more mechanical to verify. JustLend positions can be assessed using the relevant market data, balance, and calculation rules.
