Standard Chartered's Dubai branch is now offering custody for Ripple's $RLUSD stablecoin. Institutions can hold the token with the bank, keeping it under a regulated custodian rather than moving it around.

The bank also plans to connect with LMAX. That link would let institutions post $RLUSD as trading collateral while the coins stay put in custody. No transfer to an exchange would be needed.

If it goes live, the setup could make stablecoin collateral more operationally efficient for institutional traders. They could keep assets with the bank and still use them in markets.

Key details are still unconfirmed. There is no word yet on fees, launch timing, or which clients will get access first. The LMAX integration is planned, not already active.

For now, the Dubai custody service is the confirmed piece. The collateral feature is the part to watch, because it would allow trading with $RLUSD without moving the coins.
