Bitcoin Holds $80K as Traders Eye an October Breakout đŸ”„

Bitcoin is holding up pretty well despite concerns over large US government BTC transfers and reports of a Ledger hack. Unlike last year’s October crash, the market hasn’t seen a repeat of the 10/10 liquidation event, and traders are starting to look for upside again.

BTC is still struggling to break above $87K, but as long as the $80K support holds, the current range remains intact. If bulls finally push through $87K, the next target could be around $94K. Options traders are also positioning for a potential move toward $90K–$100K by the end of October.

The biggest thing to watch this week is US inflation data. CPI on Wednesday and PPI on Thursday could influence the Fed’s next move. Currently, markets put the probability of an October rate hike at around 17%, so a pause remains the main expectation. However, hotter-than-expected inflation or hawkish comments from Fed Chair Warsh could put pressure on risk assets, including BTC.

$BTC looks more stable than it did during last year’s crash, but I wouldn’t call this a confirmed bullish breakout just yet. The $80K–$87K range is the key battleground. A clean break above $87K could open the door to $94K, while losing $80K would weaken the bullish setup. With CPI and PPI coming up, I’d rather wait for confirmation than chase a move based on October’s historical reputation as a strong month for crypto.

Key dates to watch:

* Oct 14: US CPI
* Oct 15: US PPI
* Oct 16: Fed Chair Warsh speaks
