#LedgerConfirmsUnauthorizedHardwareImplantInUserDevice

Ledger has confirmed that a cryptocurrency hardware wallet belonging to an affected customer contained an unauthorized hardware implant, raising concerns about supply-chain security. The discovery is linked to an ongoing investigation involving Southeast Asian reseller CryptoBilis, whose customers reported substantial cryptocurrency losses.

Blockchain investigators estimate losses could exceed $86 million, although Ledger has not verified the total or confirmed the implant caused the thefts. CryptoBilis has suspended hardware wallet sales. Ledger says its own systems remain uncompromised and advises affected buyers not to initialize unused devices and to consider transferring funds to a new wallet with a fresh recovery phrase.
