Researchers found P7 DarkSword, an iPhone spyware variant that can remotely extract cryptocurrency wallet data and sensitive credentials from compromised devices. Security firm iVerify disclosed the malware on Oct. 8 after investigating an infection detected in August. P7 requests instructions from an attacker-controlled server every 15 seconds by default. iVerify did not disclose evidence of completed cryptocurrency theft or quantify financial losses. Researchers have not established whether P7 can bypass Apple's latest security updates.
