According to Jin10, the U.S. dollar strengthened sharply on Wednesday as rising oil prices and escalating tensions in the Middle East drove investors into safe-haven assets; the DXY rose as much as 0.5% and is now nearing its highest level this year, while nearly all G10 currencies fell against the dollar, with the euro the weakest among major currencies. XTB research head Catherine Brooks said in a report that the dollar is acting as a countercyclical asset and is attracting safe-haven inflows as other asset classes are sold off.
