Everyone is waiting for another altseason like 2021 where almost anything with a token could suddenly explode. But the next altseason may be very different.

In 2021, liquidity spread across the entire market. Large caps pumped, mid-caps followed, and eventually even weaker projects caught huge speculative moves. Simply holding a basket of altcoins could work surprisingly well.

This time, capital could be much more selective. There are thousands more tokens competing for the same attention and liquidity. That makes it harder for the whole altcoin market to rise together.

Bitcoin could also remain the center of the market for longer. If money continues concentrating in BTC and a handful of major assets, smaller altcoins may have to wait for a clear rotation before getting their moment.

And when that rotation comes, I don’t expect every coin to benefit equally. Strong narratives, real adoption, liquidity and market attention could matter much more than simply being an “altcoin.”

That could create mini-altseasons instead of one giant altseason. We might see sectors such as RWA, DeFi, AI, infrastructure or other emerging narratives run at different times while much of the market stays quiet.

This is why I’m not asking, “When will every altcoin pump?”

I’m asking, “Where will the money rotate next?”

Altseason may not be dead at all. The bigger mistake could be expecting the next one to look exactly like 2021.
