🔥 The Hardest Part of DCA for Me Was Doing Nothing For years I've traded coins like $BTC in a pretty simple rhythm where I open a position, the market moves, and that movement tells me what to do next. So I always understood how DCA works, but I didn't use it myself for a long time, because I was sure I'd get bored within a couple of weeks. I turned out to be right about the boredom. After the first month nothing remarkable had happened; my PnL looked the way you'd expect, I had slightly more coins than at the start, and the market hadn't made any big move in either direction. Even so, I kept opening the app every day as if something interesting were about to show up. At some point I stopped looking at the chart and opened the purchase history instead, and it was even less exciting there. Auto-Invest on WhiteBIT was simply buying the amount I'd set, on schedule, at the current market price, one purchase after another. While I was waiting for some visible result, my entries were being spread out over time without any involvement from me. https://bit.ly/4ypsPK8 That part was the hardest to get used to. In regular trading, when nothing is happening, you start looking for the next decision, and here no new decision was needed at all. I knew the theory of DCA long before I started, but sitting through several weeks without a single big moment turned out to be a very different experience. I think that's why the first month felt so strange to me. Part of me kept expecting the plan to behave like a normal trade, even though I had set it up precisely so that I wouldn't have to pick a new entry point every time. ❗Disclaimer: This is not financial or investment advice.
