đ€ It is now possible to freeze and seize tokens on Cardano.
At the TOKEN2049 conference in Singapore, representatives of the Cardano Foundation announced the launch of the new CIP-0113 standard for regulated stablecoins, funds, bonds, and other tokenized assets.
â„ Issuers will be able to embed KYC/AML checks and sanctions restrictions into tokens, as well as block transfers to specific addresses.
â„ Assets can be frozen, seized, and transferred without the owner's consent, provided such authority is stipulated by the specific token's rules.
â„ These rules are automatically applied during token transfers, issuance, and burning, and issuers can update them as regulations change.
â„ The standard has already launched following independent security audits. No Cardano hard fork was required for its implementation.
