@BlackRock has been on a significant $BTC buying spree. According to on-chain data tracked by @Arkham, the asset management giant accumulated a net total of approximately $1.57 billion worth of Bitcoin over the past month through its iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT).

A Single Friday Adds Nearly $200 Million

The pace of buying has been striking at times. On October 2, 2026, BlackRock's IBIT ETF absorbed 2,309.6 BTC valued at roughly $196.6 million, sourced directly from Coinbase Prime. That single-day inflow was more than enough to absorb significant withdrawals at rival funds and help push total U.S. Bitcoin ETF flows back into positive territory, with $102.67 million in net inflows recorded across the category that day. The Friday purchase is consistent with the pattern of ETF-driven flows, where new investor capital is deployed into the market on a near-daily basis.

Arkham Intelligence data indicates that BlackRock has consistently acquired Bitcoin during most ETF trading sessions over the last month. Recent additions followed a sharp rebound in Bitcoin's price, which climbed above $84,000.

Holdings Now Top 800,000 BTC

The sustained buying has brought BlackRock's total holdings to 801,769 BTC. Those holdings are valued at roughly $67.87 billion and represent more than 87% of BlackRock's $77.93 billion monitored cryptocurrency portfolio, with Ethereum trailing as the second-largest position at $10.06 billion.

The aggressive accumulation further fortifies BlackRock's position as the dominant fund in the Bitcoin ETF market. Across all U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF products, the category has attracted $2.99 billion over the past 30 days, providing a strong institutional backdrop as Bitcoin's price climbed above $86,000.

The scale of IBIT's growth underscores how quickly institutional capital has moved into regulated Bitcoin products since their U.S. launch in January 2024. For now, BlackRock shows little sign of slowing its pace of accumulation.
