A Bitcoin wallet that had remained inactive since May 2011 has suddenly moved 20.43 BTC, ending roughly 15.4 years of dormancy.

According to Arkham tracking cited by Odaily, the BTC originated from Braiins (Slush Pool) mining rewards, when each coin was worth only around $3–$4.

The BTC received on May 1 and May 8, 2011, was split and transferred to SegWit addresses, with transaction fees of less than $1. So far, none of the funds appear to have been sent to a known exchange deposit address.

Interestingly, earlier transactions from the same wallet were linked to addresses associated with Mt. Gox and Silk Road—two channels commonly connected with Bitcoin activity in 2011.

A piece of Bitcoin history just moved after more than 15 years of silence. 👀₿
