NEAR Intents says it has identified the individual allegedly responsible for a security breach that led to approximately $3.8 million in user funds being lost on Thursday.
In an X post on Friday, NEAR Intents general manager Alex Shevchenko said the team had identified the person behind the incident and gave them 48 hours to return the funds under a “responsible disclosure” process.
“We have identified you, sir,” Shevchenko wrote, sharing three wallet addresses for returning the stolen assets in Bitcoin, BNB and Solana.
He added that the 48-hour period would be the final opportunity to return the funds under the responsible-disclosure window, after which the offer would expire.
The incident occurred Thursday when NEAR Intents temporarily paused its services after detecting a bug involving the interaction between the Omni deposit and withdrawal infrastructure and the NEAR Intents smart contract.
